PIKTES

The 2nd Provincial Coordination Teams Information and Evaluation Meeting, organized within the scope of the Promoting Inclusive Education for Kids in the Turkish Education System Project (PIKTES IV), implemented by the Ministry of National Education with the financial support of the European Union, commenced on Monday, 22 December 2025, in Ankara, with the participation of Mr. Cengiz Mete, Director General of the Directorate General for Lifelong Learning, and Mr. Cihan Kıvanç, Head of Department and PIKTES Director.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Mete noted that the PIKTES Project is approaching its tenth year and highlighted the significance of Türkiye’s sustained efforts over this extended period to ensure that every child fully benefits from their right to education. Referring to recent developments in Syria, Mr. Mete stated that the Ministry is meticulously carrying out its responsibilities to support safe, orderly, dignified, and voluntary returns. He also underlined that, with the support of PIKTES, an internationally recognized infrastructure for migration education has been established by the Ministry.

Following the opening session, Mr. Cihan Kıvanç, Project Director and Head of Department, delivered a presentation on the activities carried out under PIKTES IV and the project’s future objectives. On the first day of the meeting, thematic workshop sessions were held with the participation of provincial coordination teams. The meeting concluded on the second day with presentations of policy recommendations derived from the workshops, along with presentations on unit-level activities.
