The second pilot implementation of the Turkish Proficiency Test for Children (ÇTYS), developed to assess the Turkish language skills of foreign students, was successfully carried out on 20–21 May 2026.

The exam, conducted with the participation of students aged 7–11 (Grades 1–4), was implemented in a total of eight provinces: İstanbul, İzmir, Ankara, Mersin, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Samsun, and Kilis. As part of the implementation process, the exam organization covered 88 schools and 193 examination halls, with 260 PIKTES teachers taking part in the pilot application. During the implementation, reading and listening sessions were held on the first day, while writing and speaking sessions were conducted on the second day with selected students who had participated in the first stage.

Based on the data obtained from the second pilot implementation of ÇTYS, analyses will be conducted regarding the validity, reliability, and applicability of the exam, and efforts to further improve its technical and operational aspects will continue. The findings are also expected to contribute to strengthening the exam’s alignment with international standards, as well as supporting future ALTE quality assurance processes and application preparations.
